Project: Fagner Apartment

Year: 2025

Area: 55 sq. m.

Location: Leblon, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Lead Architect: Marina Romeiro

Located on the 17th floor of an iconic circular building in Leblon, this apartment was redesigned to be the Rio retreat for two entrepreneurs living in the United States. The central concept sought to translate a cosmopolitan and masculine aesthetic, taking advantage of the privileged location to frame the views of Leblon Beach and the Morro Dois Irmãos.

The starting point was transforming the original floor plan—which features a challenging “pizza slice” geometry—into a soulful and fluid space, ready to welcome the owners during their stays in Brazil or to host a select audience for high-end rentals.

The primary spatial solution involved fully opening the kitchen to the living area. To manage the complex wall angles, bespoke American Oak millwork not only conceals appliances and storage but also regularizes the layout, creating a seamless sense of continuity. In the bedroom, the closet features Reflecta glass doors, which add lightness while reflecting the ocean view. Additionally, a strategic structure beneath the window organizes technical equipment and offers a functional, compact workstation.

The furniture celebrates Brazilian design with signature pieces by renowned names such as Sergio Rodrigues and Arthur Casas. Punctuated by deep blue accents and artwork in black and grey tones, the result is an atmosphere that breathes sophistication and warmth, remaining truly faithful to the spirit of Estúdio Popa.
