Project: Bee Concept Store
Year: 2023
Location: Botafogo, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Lead Architects: Estúdio Popa
The first Bee concept store was envisioned as a space that translates the brand’s core essence. Housed within a pre-existing warehouse, the project sought a contemporary aesthetic with a subtle industrial edge, evoking the atmosphere of a sophisticated “factory store.” The central concept focuses on elegant neutrality and material simplicity, creating a backdrop that communicates innovation and functionality within the electric mobility sector.
Spatial solutions were designed to balance the technical operation of the e-bikes with the comfort of a premium retail experience. A major highlight is the creation of the Garupas e Caronas space—a dedicated lounge for companions.
The material palette is concise and intentional, utilizing the contrast between the beige-toned monochromatic flooring, the matte black ceiling, and the warmth of Brazilian Freijó wood on the walls. Bee’s identity is sculpturally imprinted through a reproduction of the signature “U-shaped” chassis on the main wall, providing an iconic backdrop for the electric bikes on display.
With low maintenance and high durability, the project reaffirms Estúdio Popa’s commitment to transforming commercial spaces into meaningful environments.
