Padella Trattoria

Project: Padella Trattoria

Year: 2022

Area: 198 sq. m.

Location: Botafogo, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Lead Architects: Estúdio Popa

Housed within a century-old manor, Padella Trattoria merges Italian tradition with Rio’s historic architecture. The renovation honored the building’s original structure, uncovering the authentic exposed brickwork and the traditional timber scissor trusses. The architectural concept focused on creating a retreat inspired by the charm of heritage Italian homes.

To naturally expand the social areas, covered outdoor spaces were designed along the side and rear of the property. In the main dining room, an open-concept bar was meticulously planned, allowing guests to closely observe the art of pasta making and the final plating of each dish.
