P.A.

Project: P.A. Apartment

Year: 2024

Area: 105 sq. m.

Location: Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Lead Architect: Marina Romeiro

This apartment was reimagined as a serene retreat for a physician who finds her balance in reading, traveling, and nurturing plants. The renovation’s starting point was to create a space that reflects the resident’s maturity and distinct character while avoiding extensive structural demolition.

The spatial arrangement prioritizes functionality and the maximization of abundant natural light. Innovative solutions—such as a custom living room panel that reconfigures the electrical system without the need for invasive work—enhance the sense of openness and fluid living. On the balcony, a flexible layout featuring fixed elements and mobile furniture allows the space to effortlessly adapt to various needs.

By incorporating soft textures and indirect lighting designed to create a variety of ambiances, the project transforms every square meter into a truly personalized and vibrant home.
